Thank you, Yuuko. Your're so kind.
Yes, Portuguese is a very difficult language indeed, a lot of rules and stuff.
Exactly as Spanish and German.
I did study german for several years bur the grammar is difficult. It's easier for me to speak languages than to write. If you make some small mistake people can hardly hear it. :wink:
I'm glad if I can help someone, but my English is far from impeccable(perfect).
Off topic: Is that really you on the avatar? Very pretty.

Japanese, Yuuko
Difficult matter, languages. I think you are managing quite well. :D

I forgot to say, when it comes to the English language, that I have no problems what so ever writing it, since we start learning English from a very early age at school. To me it's amost the same as writing Swedish.
Our country is so small that we have to learn other languages, and English is a must, obligatory. We're just about 9 million inhabitants over here.
But I guess I am a "language person" more than anything else. Don't like mathematics, for instance :)

Mist, why don't you tell us a little bit about Swedish? Basic expressions (Hello! Good Morning! ...) and its pronunciation. I think it'd be nice, even though it is spoken just in a single country :).

I'm back, or so it seems. =)
But I do get a specific feeling that many persons have disappeared from Potterish all together. Some changes when it comes to the staff and such.

Thank you all for posting.

Well,well, well. =)
Swedish is a difficult language, but to me it's extremely easy, though. *smiling*

Thais, I found Potterish by looking at the rewarded sites on JKR:s homepage. The address was there, simple as that. I liked the layout and the look of Potterish plus that I have had and still have Brazilian friends living in Sweden. I am able to read Portuguese and speak some. Writing is more difficult. Difficult grammar and not very logical, to me anyway.

renan_ccsilva and all of you wanting to ger to know some basic expressions in Swedish.

Hello = Hej (pronounced as Hey)

Good morning = god morgon (god, spoken with a prolongded o)
God in English is something different, by the way.

In Swedish God = Gud (pronounced with prolonged u)

I'm in a hurry right now, but wanted to reply as fast as possible. =)
We can discuss more about pronounciation later on.

Boy= pojke
Girl= flicka
Smile= leende or le
I'm smiling= jag ler
He's smiling= han ler
car= bil
book= bok
I like you = jag tycker om dig or jag gillar dig.
I'm a Brazilian= jag är brasilianare(boy) jag är brasilianska(girl)
I'm from Brazil= jag kommer från Brasilien

A difficult thing is that one word can have different meanings.
It's often like that - for lack of words, I guess.
I'll return to this with some examples another day.

By the way. Magnus is a boys name in Sweden. =)

Hey, that's nice! I don't think that's too difficult, 'cause it's similar to English and to Danish, which I learnt some..

Now we'll be able to go to Sweden! :D

Thanks, Mist! :wink:
