Your profession as a witch or wizard?

If you were a witch or wizard in the Potter-world, what would you do for a living?

Some, perhaps, would choose to become a teacher, write schoolbooks or help Fred and George in their store, “Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes”.
Other’s would fancy the profession of Auror.

Myself, I’m personally interested in herbs, plants, flowers and potions.
Potions teacher? No, don’t have the patience. Healer, maybe?
I would find it extremely interesting to do reseach in the Department of Mysteries. But why not be even more adventurous?
I’d choose to become a curse-breaker like Bill Weasley. Not at Gringotts,
but some other place.

I don't know.... It's a difficult question.... But a think I'd like to be an auror... I'm sure I don't want to be a Healer... and I'm not patient enough to work as a teacher...
But work in the Department of Mysteries would be interesting too...

well, I really like the Department of Mysteries, but maybe I would be a teacher of Astronomy or History. Professor Binns is very bore, don't you think?
but I prefer the Department of Mysteries. I think that will be very important to the next book. (Sirius Black is alive!!!)

I can't imagine me like an Auror.
I'd like to be the Minister for Magic or Hogwarts' Headmaster. Muahuahuah!
Or Gringotts' owner, maybe.

But, seriously? It would be great to work at "Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes"!

And talking 'bout broomsticks, I'd love to work at the Nimbus Factory! And be one of the designers.

Yeah, there's too many options, but I think that it would be a little harder to choose if we were real wizards - like in our world, with our jobs. ;P

But, it seems so difficult to get a job in this area!

Just like you, I like Potions!It's such a interesting subject to teach on Hogwarts...But, it's also extremally complex!There's a lot of strange ingredients!

A profession that would be really great for me...it's an Auror, althought I think that Auror's team fails sometimes... [oh yeah, I'd rather be a member of the Order than be an Auror, certainly]

Arithmancy, that's quite a difficult subject, isn't it? Magical properties of numbers.
For instance the magical and lucky number seven.

This subject is required if you want to work as curse-breaker.
Well, than I think I will have to change my profession, if that's allowed?

I'll gather some other music loving witches and start a punkrock band instead!
Snape joins us as our guitar player and get's happier than he has ever been.
Maybe Tonk will appear for an audition?

Mr Gabirobas: Choosing a profession is really difficult in the Muggle world, too. If you're into sports it'll be great in the Nimbus Factory.
Although, it would certainly get rather boring in the end, don't you think? Just like working in a factory in our world. On the other hand you would probably get a free Nimbus or more, as a bonus every year.

Now, about the Aurors... everybody says that it would rock to be an Auror. I don't think so!
Look, where's the difference between Aurors and Police Officers? Yeah, Aurors can do magic. But, if we were wizards, it would be normal, right? So, I don't think it would be good to be an Auror.

This International forum is for members from all over the world, right?
Not everybody has the English language as their mother tounge. The rest of us can't write or speak English without making mistakes.
The important thing is that we understand what everybody means. And so far there has been no problems, as far as I see it.

I still find arithmancy a bit complicated, but very fascinating, indeed.
Is there no adventurer around? Somebody who would like to travel, study dragon's or other animals or beasts?

I think I'd choose the same profession "I have", I would choose to become a Journalist, but a diferent one, we can certanly agree that journalists are not good people in the Harry Potter stories - We have there, Rita Skeeter and all these reporters from Daily Profet, Gee!.

I'm also a person working with words, normally. So, this is why I wanted to do something completely different in the Wizarding world.
There are quite nice journalists around, even if Rita isn't one of them. Or she hasn't been so far.
I could probably skip that punkrock band I mentioned earlier, just to write about music instead.
